Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Advanced 3D Imaging with ZEISS CIRRUS

At HC Eyecare, we believe that protecting your vision begins with precision. That’s why we have invested in the ZEISS CIRRUS Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) — one of the most advanced diagnostic technologies available in modern eye care. This cutting-edge device allows us to assess your eye health in extraordinary detail, far beyond what traditional examinations can provide.

What Is OCT?

OCT is a state-of-the-art, non-invasive imaging technique that captures highly detailed, three-dimensional cross-sectional images of the structures within your eye. Much like an ultrasound uses sound waves to image the body, OCT uses light waves to produce incredibly precise images of the retina, optic nerve, and anterior segment of the eye.

By providing detailed views of the different layers and structures of the eye, OCT allows us to assess areas that are otherwise invisible with standard equipment, giving us critical information for early diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning.

What the ZEISS CIRRUS Allows Optometrists to See

  • Detailed 3D imaging of the retina, macula, optic nerve, and anterior segment.

  • Early signs of glaucoma — monitoring changes in the optic nerve and nerve fiber layer.

  • Macular degeneration — detecting subtle changes in the central retina responsible for sharp vision.

  • Diabetic eye disease — identifying early leakage or swelling of retinal blood vessels before vision is affected.

  • Precise measurement of retinal thickness — monitoring for fluid buildup or structural damage.

Anterior segment imaging — assessing corneal thickness, angle structures, lens position, and supporting glaucoma management and refractive surgery planning.

Your Benefits

  • Earlier detection, Timely Intervention — long before vision loss develops.

  • Precise Long-Term Monitoring – Track changes in disease progression with exceptional accuracy over time.
  • Comfortable and non-invasive — quick, painless scans performed during your regular eye exam.

  • Better understanding of your condition — with visual reports that clearly demonstrate any changes in your eye health.

  • Greater peace of mind — knowing your vision is being monitored with the highest standard of care and the latest technology.
